Eternity is drawing everyone. What is life all about? What is an authentic life? These are the themes of the beautiful movie, “The Fountain”. While God is not a character and the major religions are absent, the spiritual quest is there. We are captivated by the questions the movie asks.

The acting is superb. The music enchanting. The cinematography is beautiful. The story is romantic, exciting and moving. I give it a solid A.

You might want to give “Letters from Iwo Jima” a view also.
I think its a better film than “Flags of our Fathers” was to begin with. Better cinematography, pacing and acting. Far less preaching of “issues”. Guess it just struck me as more real.

I liked it too. I was drawn to it for a lot of reasons (I like hugh jackman and rachel weisz, and the director, whose name slips my mind at the moment). I liked the complex storyline that leaves you thinking rather than delivering pat answers. And the movie itself was beautiful. I hope to get it on DVD soon; it deserves another look.
